Having used a few opticians over the years, with varying levels of success (some practices had archaic equipment, others had an incompetent or creepy optician, some didn't produce accurately fulfilled prescriptions and others had a poor selection of frame choices), I had come to the conclusion that there is always a trade-off with opticians....or rather, that's until I tried Brownbills in Ashford! Every aspect of what Brownbills provides is first class - from the expert, thorough and personable eye examinations (AJ is an especially brilliant optician!) to the patient and honest assistance when selecting glasses (Sarah is particularly helpful). I also should mention the highly advanced, modern equipment the practice uses. In addition, the choice of frames is great and if they don't have anything to your liking, they will order extra in for you to try. Indeed, my son recently needed myopia management glasses, which require a reasonably deep frame. Before he even went to Brownbills to try what they had in stock, Sarah ordered in extra so he had plenty of choice. Brownbills cost a few more pounds than what I have been used to paying at other independent and major chain opticians, but my goodness, the level of service and care received, in addition to the HD vision my new glasses provide, make the added expense worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brownbills therefore - and in fact, I already have to several family members and friends! We only have one set of eyes to last our entire life - so in order to give myself the best chance of long-term quality eyesight, I shall be using Brownbills for my optical care from hereon in!

I have been visiting Brownbills for several years now. It's very difficult to put into words what a lovely family atmosphere you feel at every stage of your appointment. My most recent visit was following a family bereavement and the care and support I received from the Helen and Hue Pinney was heart warming. The whole team are so friendly and extremely professional. Often choosing new glasses can be daunting, if you don't have a friend or family member with you to voice their opinion, but all the team got involved and helped!! Thank you Brownbills.

I've typically used well known high street opticians and been pretty happy with the service. But the experience at Brownbills was altogether different. The whole process of buying a couple of pairs of spectacles and a pair of sunglasses was an absolute pleasure. The advice Jack gave me and the level of attention he paid to ensuring the glasses fit perfectly was superb. Having been a glasses wearer for 30 years this visit opened my eyes (pun well and truly intended) to what I should have been expecting from an opticians for a long time.

I recently got my first pair of glasses from Brownbills and I couldn't be happier. I saw a very friendly and knowledable optometrist and I'm so happy with my glasses. My prescription isn't much but with my glasses it's now like seeing in HD!

As with previous reviews, I wish I’d visited Brownbills sooner. The whole experience from booking to collection of my new glasses was outstanding. Unlike with other chain opticians, they made me feel very valued as a customer and at no point did I feel rushed or pushed into making any decisions. As I now need varifocals, they took time to explain the benefit of switching and one day in, I know it was the right advice. It’s also clear from the demeanour of all the team, that they enjoy working there and take pride in providing a great customer experience. Thank you to all the team.

I have one regret. I didn't come here sooner. The eye sight test was great. They really look after your eyes, and treat you like an individual. They recommended some great glasses for my husband. Who has had cataracts, secondary cateracts and detached retinas. The prices is in keeping with the high street ones at the higher end. But the quality is beyond comparison. These are the first pair of glasses in over twenty yesrs to fit correctly first time. The staff are amazing. As a first time customer I can throughly recommend Brownbills. I will not go anywhere else. They are an amazing people.
